Life When I Stopped Drinking vs. The Time I Added Alcohol Back
Alcohol is no joke and it can completely devastate people’s lives. Not only their own, but a domino effect can trickle into the lives of loved ones as collateral damage. The topic of alcohol use is one that I do not take lightly, but at one point in my life, I had no second thoughts about my use and how it impacted me negatively.
Therefore, I find it important to share my viewpoints and my journey. As a person who stopped drinking for over 2 years and then reintroduced the substance back into my life, the accountability toward my wellbeing has shifted in ways I never thought possible.

My Life When I Quit
In October of 2019, I work up with a horrible hangover, which was nothing new. The difference this time included a sense of “enough is enough.” I’d recently returned to school as a mature student, was working full-time and my depression was building, as it usually did in the winter months.
