Did I make a Mistake Drinking Again?

It’s been over two months since I re-introduced alcohol into my life after a two-year break. To be honest, the experience has been overall lack luster. Even so, I have pondered some questions based off some blog comments…

1. Have the pros outweighed the cons of drinking again?

2. Is this a set up for future concerns?

3. Did I make a mistake?

As I’ve said in other posts, I do not believe everyone should try to drink again if they’ve identified an issue at some point. An overabundance of booze can be situational but could also be a sign of an Alcohol Use Disorder. Sometimes we grow and change in ways that alcohol does not interfere anymore, but in other cases, it will always be a problem.

That is what I am trying to figure out at this point and thought I’d share the answers to the above questions…

Pros versus Cons?

When I went into this moderation journey, I knew from the start that the pros will never be greater than the cons. That awareness is a pill we all need to swallow.

Alcohol is socially acceptable poison where any amount will negatively impact your physical health. Let’s not forget that it is a depressant. I’ve had one hangover already (not a high # of drinks either) and it was more…
